Time for the beach

Cinnamon Bay ruins, Sunday Oct 7, 2017

After yesterday’s hard work we were dying to see the beach. It’s one of the big reasons we moved here.

We pulled into Hawksnest and took a walk. I can’t believe the pavilions made it through 2 hurricanes.

We drove along the North Shore Road and were shocked at the streams of water running over the road. The island feels saturated in water. Cinnamon has always been my favorite beach. I was heartbroken to see the tangled mess of trees, but still couldn’t help jumping in. We may or may not have had clothes on – we were the only ones there!

Dog House Pub Football post-hurricanes

Dog House Pub Sunday football community

We ended the day at Dog House Pub watching football. There is an island comraderie going on that I love and I’ve never seen before. People you used to only barely speak to are now hugging and saying “great to see you.” I love the island vibe going on now.

Just before going home, we walked around Cruz Bay just like we have a hundred times before – and will a hundred times again.
