Rain Rain Go Away

October rain on st john

Ok, I get that we need rain to help the green come back, but this has gotten ridiculous. We desperately need sunshine to dry things out. Our last few days have been just surviving. Get fuel for generator, work on generator, clean to stop the mold. I’m trying to wash a load of clothes, but there isn’t enough sunshine to dry them.

The water looks like chocolate milk today from all the runoff. The house is SO damp. We sleep on damp sheets and pillows, dry off with a damp towel after a cold shower, we sit on a majorly damp couch. I crave feeling dry.

Getting ice is still a challenge. Friday we didn’t get any. Yesterday we got some. One gas station ran out of gas yesterday, and I’m worried about getting to the other one with temporary flooding.

Cruz Bay is returning to normal. I saw Woody’s and Rhumb Lines open up.

I’m keeping our posts real: when it’s good, it’s good. Today…not so good.
